FROM THE HEADMASTER

Greensteds is a happy, thriving, buzzing community of young men and women who learn to appreciate the values of hard work, commitment and making the most of each opportunity presented to them. We would like each person to realise his/her full potential by the time they finish their Sixth Form years with us so they are confident, assured young people ready to embark on university or a working life.

We believe that our students should enjoy their time at school which is achieved though knowing our students thoroughly, caring for their needs and helping them to establish their identity and self-esteem. We manage to achieve this through the range of extra curricular activities we have on offer as well as the broad based academic curriculum we provide, and the pastoral care all of which, we consider to be an integral part of “education”.

In a recent inspection report Greensteds is described as a school which strives for excellence whilst retaining a warm, friendly atmosphere and where the contribution of each individual is seen as important to the sum total. Achieving this balance requires a special brand of teacher in addition to students who are prepared to be guided and nurtured. Thankfully, we have both.

Current Greensteds students do not just operate in isolation; they are a part of the history of the school although at a particular point in time. We receive many e-mails from former staff and students who recall with great fondness and appreciation the time they spent at this school. Some of those comments you will be able to read on our Alumni Page. Our current students know they have much to live up to whilst setting the tone and trends for those yet to come to our school.

We are proud of our achievements yet, we are constantly looking to move forward; to modify how we operate whilst retaining our reputation as a leading British Curriculum School in Kenya. Our Year 13 leavers will soon be attending universities, undergoing graduate courses in a range of subjects all over the world and once qualified we hope they will return to become leaders in whichever field they have chosen to study.

As you look through our website to see what is available at Greensteds we hope it gives you a feel for our school and how we achieve our success. Please feel free to contact us should you require further information or more details of what many consider to be a very special place.
