Junior Girls Dorm – Years 2 – 8
Dorm Tutor – Mrs. Emma Starling Assistant Dorm Tutor – Mrs. K. Mutuku, Mrs. Carolyn Jones Matron – Mary
The Junior Girls Dorm is a modern single storey building split into two wings. One houses the Junior School girls (Years 2 – 6) and the other the Year 7 and 8 girls. Although both of these wings are overseen by the same Dorm Tutors and Matron, there is a different routine in each wing.
Junior Girls Wing
The Junior Girls wing has an open cut-down cubicle style layout and accommodation for up to 20 girls. There are five cubicles, each designed for four beds and the Dorm is painted in vibrant fun colours. Girls have their own lockers and space in the luggage room. There is also a cosy common room with a TV and DVD player. The Matron provides the girls with much care and support. She is on duty at all times of the day and night and because she is accommodated within the Dorm she is easily accessible to the girls. The Dorm Tutors and Matron work closely together to ensure all girls maintain high standards of personal care and home life. As a result, the Dorm has a very happy homely environment.
“Being a boarder is fun because you can be with your friends and you learn how to take care of your own problems. The Matrons are very friendly and the Dorm Tutors are always there to help you when you need them.” Maureen Michuki Year 9
