Sometimes more than a Bandaid or Panadol is needed.Greensteds School has a well equipped dispensary with two qualified Nurses, who have years of experience in Medical and Counselling Care. Should a student or teacher feel that they need some TLC, they will be greeted by the smiling faces of our Nurses Christine Nguhi and Felista Njuguna who will gladly put the world right again. The Dispensary is manned 24hrs a day and 7 days a week. Should a student need medical care at any time of the day or night, our Nurses are on call to treat them. If it is a more serious case, the student is then taken by the nurse to Valley Hospital in Nakuru for specialised treatment. A Doctor comes from Nakuru once a week to hear any concerns, see patients who have not responded to primary treatments and reassure the nurses about the cases they have treated. Our Nurses counselling training is also very useful when students come with ailments that are the results of stress or unhappiness. The Nurses are quick to discern the causes and are able to help talk things through with the student or refer a problem to the teacher or dorm tutor concerned. During Sport fixtures our Nurses are on the field, ready to assist when an injury or any other medical situation should arise. We have often received phone calls complementing the efficient treatment a child has been given whilst on a fixture at Greensteds School |
