So called because this home is committed to providing 24 hour care for the vulnerable boys who have been saved from street-life in Nakuru, this is the most recent destination for our weekly visits. The orphanage is an exciting project which is aiming not only to become self-sufficient but also a focus for community development, eventually offering technical education and employment throughout the area. Greensteds’ pupils enjoy playing games, reading and dancing with the boys who have performed, by invitation, at the Greensteds’ talent shows. Greensteds' pupils are also teaching the boys how to play chess and computing skills. Furthermore, one afternoon a week is set aside for pupils from the allied Living Fountain Academy to come to the Greensteds campus to learn how to swim and the martial art of Tae Kwondo. Close links are being forged with other sporting and performance activities in which the two sets of pupils work together. Greensteds and Sure24 enjoy a game of ball-tag together |
