| We love our Geography here at Greensteds and pride ourselves on having a great department. 'Geography is everything and everything is Geography, true to the fact that it is very practical and students love to go on trips to experience it first hand and develop their decision making and problem solving skills.
Geography is a subject with something for everyone. It can inspire students to think about their own place in the world, their values, their rights, and their responsibilities to other people and the environment. Through Geography our pupils acquire a wide range of skills and it is great to see them learn and understand more about the workings of the world around them and come to appreciate the interrelationships between the physical environment and human actions. Geography is a thriving and well resourced department at Greensteds, with some of the largest numbers of pupils opting to study the subject at IGCSE and AS Level. As a Department we strongly believe in teaching lessons which involve a varied and student led approach to learning. Geography lessons involve the use of class debates, role plays, specialised games and also the use of ICT. We are one of the first International schools in the world where students have the opportunity to sit one of their IGCSE examination papers online. “What other subject tells us so much about the great issues of this age – global change, natural and human ?” |
