We believe it is very important to keep our parents regularly and fully informed of how their children are performing and progressing in all aspects of school life. We achieve this in three ways.
Firstly, at the end of each term a written report for each child is provided. The first term report (September to December) covers all subjects individually in the case of Key Stage 1&2 and covers the six main areas in the case of the Foundation Stage. The second term report (January to March) covers the core subjects (Numeracy, Literacy and Science) in detail and the other subjects in summary. And the third term report (April to June) covers all subjects in great detail whilst also providing attainment levels for Numeracy and Literacy in the case of Key Stage 1&2 and a detailed review of development in the areas in the case of the Foundation Stage. Each report sets targets to be achieved in the next term or school year and identifies a student’s specific strengths and areas to develop. Secondly, in the first and second terms we hold parent consultations. These are designed to provide an opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teacher face to face, discuss their child’s progress in all areas of the curriculum and look through their books. Such consultations are crucial as they provide a rare opportunity, especially for our boarders, to discuss issues with the three most important players in the learning process (parent, teacher and child) all present.
Finally, if you wish to know how your child is getting on with regard to any aspect of school life then donot hesitate to contact us. We will make every effort to provide you with the information you require and be prompt in our reply. |
