During the February half term Greensteds pupils from Year 7-10 went on a ski trip to Austria along with Miss Matthews and Mrs Wood.

Flying from Nairobi to Zurich and then traveling to Zell em See in Austria by coach we arrived to see plenty of snow.

Pupils received ski instructor for 4 hours every day and all the pupils developed their skiing ability very quickly. All groups started on the nursery slopes on day one and some groups were cruising down reds and even blacks at the end of the week.

We were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather for the whole week but the snow lasted well and we were never disappointed.......there was plenty even for snow fights!

The trip was organised through a UK company called PGL and we stayed in fantastic Hostel accommodation where we were looked after very well. The food was excellent and so was the service provided by staff. After skiing there was still plenty to do back in the hotel including sports in the fully equipped sports hall, bowling and pizza’s, watching films in the cinema and sports in the game room including table tennis, squash and pool.

In the evenings trips were arranged to keep all entertained including ice skating, spectating a live Ice Hockey game, disco night, a ski show where we watched talented skiers and snowboarders perform tricks and jumps and also a trip to MacDonald’s.

The cost of the trip was very reasonable but still allowed for the opportunities that the pupils had whilst in Austria. Included in the price:

The trip was a real success and enjoyed by all and Greensteds is hoping to run a very similar trip next year.
