Day and Boarding

Boarding

Boarding life has numerous benefits, with the main one being that students’ remaining on-site allows them to fully take advantage of everything that Greensteds has to offer. Each dormitory (boarding house) creates an atmosphere that lets students feel at home and fulfill their academic potential. Teaching staff live-in and support the students, overseeing all their needs.

Matrons, who also live in, facilitate the day-to-day domestic side of the dorms. Boarding is available to pupils from Year 1 to Year 13. Some of the facilities include a Common Room with TV (DSTV), kitchen areas for preparing light snacks, hot showers, and laundry service.

Prep time is a component of boarding life and entails pupils being supervised by a member of the teaching staff as they carry on with their prep (homework) each evening.

The boarding Options include: Full boarding, Weekly boarding and Flexi boarding.

Day Scholars

Day scholars are as integral to our school as boarders and as such, we have a flexible approach and if they wish to stay overnight in dorms for matches or socials, this is achievable through prior permission.

Students living near Greensteds often choose to be day scholars. The school provides a daily transport service; picking students up from Nakuru in the morning and dropping them off again after the school day has finished. There are three buses after school; Junior day scholars leave at 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm, whilst Senior day scholars leave at 5.30 pm. This allows the day scholars to take part in after-school clubs and activities.

Day scholars are provided with a two-course hot lunch every day and special dietary requests can be catered for. In addition, there are two snacks and drink breaks during the day.
